hahahahah just bought the new Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. Its been so long since I had a new phone. The last one was Sony Ericsson W550i. Why now? Why 5800? OK let see.. most of my choice are made of outstanding functionality. I was looking for a decent 3 in 1 feature of a phone, which is 3G, GPS and WiFi.

1) 3G - I had a 3G simcard, which i haven't used. What's the point having a 3G card without having the chance to use it? hahaha can see people summore in video call.

2) GPS - I travel a lot, so GPS might come in handy...( really eh? haahahha) more like to detect speedtraps in highways....Hey! i got a few tickets already.... damn! Installed Garmin XT 5.00.30 + malsingmaps + custom POIs. The guys at malsingmaps.com were really great. Thanks to them these maps made it as official maps for Garmin.

3) WiFi - haha.... whats the meaning of mobile internet (apart from 3G / GPRS and data carrier shit) if the UNSECURED and LESS SECURED access points were not utilized? hehe

the touchscreen is also cool...

Slackware 12.2 Release Announcement

After its official release on 10/12/2008, i've updated my box to 12.2 yesterday. The enhancement can be seen in performance. I need to try it out first and update this comment. KDE4 was quite crappy, no wonder slackware sticks with 3.5.10. With the 2.6.27.7 kernel and Xorg 1.4.2 X, my system is wuite stable compared to previous installation. pm_utils was included with this release. I haven't tried it yet. need some time to update.

To protect yourself against EFS-encrypted files loss you should always export your Private and Public key, along with the keys for the Recovery Agent user.

Basically there are numerous methods and software for this task. And all of the tools are free to use. I will not put any commercial software in this tutorial.

Okay guys, since a lot of my friends were asking how to crack wifi APs, here it is... simple yet successful in cracking WEP keys.

This is not intended to be detail about Wifi cracking, but rather a simple task by task method of what you have to do in order to get the encryption keys. Later on, when you have understand all the concept, i would really suggest all of you to actually understand how wifi encryption works and how can it be cracked.

Due to many limitation in Windows operating system, most drivers are written in linux. This tutorial assumes that you are using linux OS.If you are not running linux, please get a live version. I would suggest that you use backtrack. Backtrack is a Live Linux distribution with tons of security / pentest / diag tools based on slax live linux.

The first step is for you to identify that whether your system is able to do this or not.

1) Identify the chipset of your wireless card.
2) download the aircrack-ng suite
3) Start cracking

Okay, for step no 1, please go here [ http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=compatible_cards ] to determine whether your wireless card is supported or not. If not, you should consider buying an external wireless card. I'm sure you can get one easily in low yat plaza less than RM150.

My thinkpad laptop is already built in with Intel Wireless 3945ABG chipset. So i'll be using ipwraw drivers for the injection to work.

 Okay, for step no 2, download the latest release of aircrack-ng suite.
